Geoscience Services

Geoscience includes all the disciplines (geology, geophysics, geochemistry) that study the structure, evolution and dynamics of the planet Earth and its natural mineral and energy resources.

Enkay Group is the leading GeoSciences solution provider in the country with the diverse practical experience of its experts. “Enkay Geoscience Services” was formed under the umbrella of Enkay Group to provide more focused solutions to the customers varying needs.

The study and map the distribution of rocks exposed at the Earth's surface forms the basis of geotechnical studies. We look at how they are folded, fractured and altered by geological processes and determine their ages and field relations. This enables the production of geological maps and databases which are the basic tools underpinning the utilization of all geological resources.
At Enkay GeoSciences Services we provide services like:
Our engineers and geologists work with scientists in other disciplines to interpret and synthesize environmental, geological and geotechnical information for a complete site portrayal for assessing design requirements.
  • Soil sampling and analysis and SBC

Remote Sensing is a branch of science used to take measurements of earth without making actual contact and with the use of sensors placed on satellites. Sensors collect the information in the form of geographical images and enables manipulation, analysis and visualization. These instruments are integrated in GIS software. In this system information is transmitted in the form of electromagnetic radiation (EMR). EMR is a type of energy form that is produced after it strikes a particular matter.
We have a complete knowledge of all necessary elements to conceptualize an ideal GIS and remote sensing system. And we make a thorough use of this knowledge; our GIS application system is integrated with advanced software like geological information database, which helps a lot in tracking down the mishappenings at any corner of the world. We are producing a variety of services by using GIS and remote sensing with comprehensive and limited description according to the requirements.
Topographic mapping serves the purpose to view the arrangement of various changes on land created by land cover. Topography maps are widely used maps, these showcase not only the natural resource like roads, transmission line, country borders, major buildings etc. Production of an accurate topographic map can take a long and complex process, but we employ the modern day processes, an extremely professional team of technicians and a series of co-ordinate steps, so that the process requires comparatively lesser amount of time.
We produce assistance of computer technology to makes it easier to produce new maps easily and revise the existing ones. Improved and effective processes have replaced the old ways of compiling information to deliver new maps. World wide acceptance of computer produced maps has accelerated the use of computer compatibility of topographic mapping services. Even the government departments opt for digital mapping information for their networks. These are used for the following features:
DIGITIZING DATA - Map digitization resembles the original map but it indulges each and every physical and digital feature of the map to be segregated according to location, classified and traced. Different layers of man made features like buildings, roads, railway tracks and physical features like boundaries, surfaces, rivers etc require digitization.
These maps can be digitized by hand, tracing maps with cursor and even done by the phenomenon of scanning. After digitizing remaining editing operations take place. The attributes like coding is integrated to identify what each digitized symbol depicts; and controlling the accuracy of attribute positioning and coding.
Topography mapping techniques are used to map down all "physical" natural and man-made objects hunt down into a single database in order to gain varied information as:
  • Marketing- For any organization that is thinking to enlarge its area under business, to merge sales information in geographic terms.
  • Soil Conservation- Department of agriculture and soil conservation use scanned photographs and field boundary data to check and analyze soil use and area under crop cover.
  • Hydrology Studies- Urban flood modeling, storm drain modeling, pond design, river channel studies and modeling is done by the study of these digitized maps.
  • Land Development- Planning of different features like sewer, plots, cost estimates, paving, drainage and material take offs is done by these maps.
Watershed is a geo hydrological unit or piece of land that drain at a common point. The watershed management implies, the judicious use of all the resources i.e. land, water, vegetation in an area for providing an answer to alleviate drought, moderate floods, prevent soil erosion, improve water availability and increase food, fodder, fuel and fiber on sustained basis. Watershed aims to achieve maximum production with minimum hazard to the natural resources and for the well being of people. The task of watershed management includes the treatment of land by using most suitable biological and engineering measures in such a manner that, the management work must be economic and socially acceptable.

In India, where a lot of water goes waste, it is important to apply the technology of watershed management to solve its annual problems of droughts and floods. The demand for water exceeds its supply. Conflicts sharing water resources are on the rise.
Enkay GeoScience Services offers the following:
  • Generation of data on hydro-meteorological, soil, nutrient and process-related parameters at watershed level in different agro-ecological zones of the country through instrumentation.
  • Modeling studies on watershed hydrology.
  • Spatial Decision Support Systems (SDSS) for land and water management at the watershed scale.
  • Assessment of impact of on-site and off-site management structures for soil and water conservation.
Natural resource management refers to the management of natural resources such as land, water, soil, plants and animals, with a particular focus on how management affects the quality of life for both present and future generations. Natural resource management is congruent with the concept of sustainable development, a scientific principle that forms a basis for sustainable global land management and environmental governance to conserve and preserve natural resources.

Natural resource management specifically focuses on a scientific and technical understanding of resources and ecology and the life-supporting capacity of those resources.
